Japanese Auto Tech said that despite the rod bearing noise, my Z is running very well and if I put 20W/50 in it and change it every 2,000 miles it might go another 20k to 30k miles. I wonder if I am to blame for the rod bearing failure. I always ran low weight 10W30 Mobil 1 oil in it. Perhaps I should have been running 15W40 or 20W50. Also, I installed the UR lightweight crank pulley. Maybe removing the harmonic dampener caused the bearings to fail prematurely. Hmm...

I think I'm going to try and get a better idea of what it will cost to do the TT swap.

To the guys who said they got better mileage with the TT, what do you define as better? Give me some numbers. "Better" doesn't mean a damn thing when you're talking mpg.

As far as replacing the rod bearings, they said it would need over-sized bearings and the crank would need to be machined. That sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

BradZ - I don't want to throw away ANY money.

na300zx (OH) - Attachment to material things is a fools errand. I love the Z32, but you are correct, I'm not ATTACHED to it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions
